As we continue through 2021, Neighbours is sure to have more shocks in store for fans.
Last year, the soap celebrated its 35th anniversary, which included plenty of deaths, returning characters and newcomers.
Neighbours is showing no signs of slowing down, either, and a new year will only bring about more drama for the Erinsborough residents.
So, if you need help keeping up to date with the comings, goings and returnees, then look no further.
Read on for your essential guide to the Neighbours cast.
Bonnie Anderson (Bea Nilsson)
Bea is off and will be departing the show later this year. “I was like a pig in mud at that place,” she told Sunday Herald Sun of her time on the show . “Neighbours really changed my life for the better in so, so many ways. I feel like at the age I was, 23, when I joined the show it has really shaped me into the person that I am today.”
She added: “I have overcome a lot, I have grown and I am proud of the way I live my life. It was really good to have that structure and now after three and a half years on that show I have decided it is time for me to continue challenging myself and create space to focus on my music and songwriting and more acting.”
Cameron Robbie (Jessie Porter)
Cameron Robbie will be joining the Neighbours cast as Jessie Porter in upcoming months, and the young actor has a very famous connection to Erinsborough, indeed. His sister is Hollywood superstar, Margot Robbie, who once appeared in Neighbours between 2008 and 2011 as Donna Freedman.
Little is known about newcomer Jessie, but he’s already been described as a “wealthy lifeguard”, who takes on a summer job at the Lassiters’ bar. We can expect to see him on screen in March, according to Digital Spy.
Nathan Borg (Curtis Perkins)
Neighbours have announced that hard of hearing actor, Nathan Borg, will be joining the long-running soap in a guest role. Borg will be playing new teacher Curtis Perkins in scenes that will see his character alongside legendary players such as Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) and Jane Harris (Annie Jones).
The 24-year-old actor was born six-weeks premature and after suffering from meningitis, he needed a cochlear implant in his right ear at the age of two to enable him to start hearing and learning. He is the first actor on Australian television with that implant.
Ezra Justin and Texas Watterson (Emmett and Brent)
Aaron Brennan and David Takaya’s foster buddy, Emmett, is making a return alongside his troublesome brother Brent. The last we had seen of them they had reconnected with their mother which prompted Aaron and David to look at other plans for becoming parents.
But what brings Emmett and Brent back into their lives, and could their mother, Jenna, have let the boys down once again? We won’t have long to wait as they are both set to make their Ramsay Street return later this month.
Rob Mills (Finn Kelly)
Even dying in a large muddy puddle is not enough to keep the sinister Finn Kelly away from Ramsay Street as Neighbours have confirmed that the villain will be making a surprise return to the soap in a few weeks time.
But happily, for the residents of Ramsay Street, he will only be back in Susan Kennedy’s (Jackie Woodburne’s) mind as she tries to find closure from everything that happened because of him in 2020. But will seeing the deceased murderer help her, or will it be a sign that she is struggling again?
