Mulder and Scully are back in brand new X-Files footage

Fox teases fans with nine seconds of new material starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson - and it's classic X-Files

Mulder and Scully entering a darkened room bearing flashlights and guns. A smattering of “truths” and “beliefs” and a demand from skeptical Scully for answers – yep, the nine seconds of footage from the new X-Files series may be brief but there’s no denying it’s classic X-Files. 


The new stuff kicks off 27 seconds into the teaser below, with Mulder saying: “I believe that what we’re looking for is in the X-Files. I’m more certain than ever that the truth is in there.”

“I’ve heard the truth Mulder. Now what I want are the answers,” responds Scully.

The footage is part of a trailer for Fox’s 201 Days of The X-Files initiative. With exactly that number of days until the show’s much-anticipated return, the network encouraged fans to re-watch an episode a day, from the 1993 pilot and to the 2002 finale. 

It started yesterday, though, so if you want to play the game, you’ve got two instalments to watch when you get home from work later. The trials of being a sci-fi fan…
