Karen Gillan’s hair is “not going to be in Star Wars”

Rumours the Guardians of the Galaxy star had donated her hair to JJ Abrams's film was a "miscommunication", Gillan says

While many fans have been keen to find out who was going to be cast in Star Wars Episode VII, what the plot might be, how the new characters will blend with the old, there was another rumour swirling around the internet, that actress Karen Gillan’s hair was going to be used as a wig.

It was thought that after she shaved her head for her role as Nebula in the newly released Guardians of the Galaxy, she’d donated her locks to the Star Wars costume department.

But it’s all been a bit of a misunderstanding.

“It was just a miscommunication,” Gillan tells the BBC while on the red carpet for Guardians.

“The people who were making the monsters for Star Wars were making my wig for me. So there was one point where it was in the warehouse for the Star Wars stuff. But, it’s not going to be in Star Wars, it’s in my bedroom.”

Strangely enough, this isn’t the first time hair has been the topic of conversation among the Guardians cast. Earlier this week Gillan’s co-star Chris Pratt plaited a girl’s hair while being interviewed about his latest work.
