Imagine this: you're in a scorching desert, few signs of life for miles around, but you've come across a precious ball of dung - a source of food that could last you for the rest of your life (did I forget to mention you're also a female beetle?)
That is exactly what happens tonight on David Attenborough's Africa, except the sweltering beetle in question has encountered a problem - she must locate a rare moist spot of ground to protect her food supply from the roasting sun overhead. She also has a sand dune or two to contend with. But fear not, this resilient little beetle has a will power second to none...
Africa continues tonight at 9:00pm on BBC1
