Scrubs cast – who is returning for the revival?
JD and the gang are back in action.

One of the most popular sitcoms of the 21st century is back for an all-new era, with stars Zach Braff, Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke reuniting for the occasion.
That's right: it's time for another visit to the Sacred Heart hospital, where we watched JD (Braff), Turk (Faison) and Elliot (Chalke) go from inexperienced trainee doctors to confident veterans of the wards.
Now, it's their turn to nurture the next generation of medical talent, as a new group of fresh faces are unleashed upon the hospital in desperate need of guidance and support.
Not every revival pans out as fans hope, but Scrubs is shaping up to be the rare exception, with early reviews praising the original cast for slipping effortlessly back into their roles.
Read on for a full overview of the Scrubs season 10 cast – plus an introduction to the new additions – as the series makes a triumphant return on Disney+ UK.

Zach Braff as Dr John 'JD' Dorian

Who is JD? JD is a doctor at the Sacred Heart. When we met him in the original series, he was a fresh-faced trainee being put through his paces and facing a lot of intimidating firsts (not to mention, some rather tough mentors). Now though, he is the one playing teacher to a brand new cohort of junior doctors.
The original Scrubs series also followed the romance between JD and Elliot, which has sadly ended in divorce by the time we reunite with them. Despite the awkwardness this brings up, the two will have to find a way to work together as both patients and doctors rely on them.
What else has Zach Braff been in? Besides Scrubs, Braff is known for roles in Garden State, Chicken Little and Oz the Great and Powerful, as well as Raphael Bob-Waksberg animated shows Bojack Horseman and Long Story Short. Off-screen, he's directed episodes of Apple TV's Ted Lasso and Shrinking, and hosts the Fake Doctors, Real Friends podcast with co-star Donald Faison.
Donald Faison as Dr Chris Turk

Who is Turk? Turk is JD's best friend and a surgeon at the Sacred Heart hospital. He is married to nurse Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes), with whom he has four children.
What else has Donald Faison been in? Prior to joining Scrubs, Faison had made a name for himself in Keri Russell's university drama Felicity and the TV adaptation of Clueless, which starred Peep Show's Rachel Blanchard. His post-Scrubs career includes sitcom The Exes, superhero flick Kick-Ass 2 and crime drama Ray Donovan, among many other credits.
Sarah Chalke as Dr Elliot Reid

Who is Dr Elliot Reid? Elliot is another doctor, who learned the ropes of the demanding profession alongside JD and Turk. The trio are now back together at their old training ground, but Elliot is questioning what she wants the future of her career to look like.
What else has Sarah Chalke been in? Since leaving the Sacred Heart behind, Chalke is probably best known as part of the Rick & Morty voice cast, where she plays all variations of the eccentric inventor's daughter, Beth. Other credits include Speechless, Paradise PD and Firefly Lane.
John C McGinley as Dr Perry Cox

Who is Dr Perry Cox? Dr Cox is a senior doctor, who previously acted as a mentor figure to JD, Turk and Elliot during their early days on the job. He was known for not suffering fools or being shy about his scathing opinions, but there was a softer side to him too that presented itself when it mattered most.
What else has John C McGinley been in? His recent credits include Stan Against Evil, Chicago PD, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and National Geographic's Genius: MLK/X, where he portrayed US President Lyndon B Johnson.
Judy Reyes as Carla Espinosa

Who is Carla Espinosa? For most of the original series, Carla was the head nurse at the Sacred Heart, although in the ninth season she stepped back from the role to care for her then-newborn children. Carla is married to Turk, but also offered plenty of support to JD as he went through various tough situations, affectionately referring to him as 'Bambi'.
Carla will only appear in half of season 10, due to a schedule clash for actor Judy Reyes, who also stars in fellow ABC comedy High Potential.
What else has Judy Reyes been in? As mentioned, Reyes currently stars alongside It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia legend Kaitlin Olson in High Potential. Her other credits include Devious Maids, Jane the Virgin, Claws and Succession.
Robert Maschio as Dr Todd Quinlan

Who is Dr Todd 'The Todd' Quinlan? Todd is a surgeon at the Sacred Heart, who is best known for his immature and rather cringe jokes, which are often of a sexual nature.
What else has Robert Maschio been in? Maschio has stepped away from acting in recent years, focusing instead on being an estate agent in Santa Monica, California. According to IMDb, this is his first on-screen gig since 2015, when he made a guest appearance in Bones season 11.
Christa Miller as Jordan Sullivan

Who is Jordan Sullivan? Jordan is a former Sacred Heart hospital board member, and the ex-wife of Dr Perry Cox. They had a hostile relationship following their initial separation, but rediscovered feelings for each other by the end of the original series.
What else has Christa Miller been in? Miller is best known for collaborations with her husband, Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence, whom she worked with again on both Cougar Town and Apple TV's Shrinking. She was also a behind-the-scenes music supervisor on his smash-hit sports comedy Ted Lasso.
Neil Flynn as The Janitor

Who is the Janitor? An unnamed janitor at the Sacred Heart, who never misses an opportunity to make JD's life a little bit harder.
What else has Neil Flynn been in? Flynn actually has two long-running sitcoms to his name, having also played the role of Mike Heck in ABC's The Middle for almost a decade between 2009 and 2018. You may also recognise him from hit films Mean Girls or Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Phill Lewis as Dr Hooch

Who is Dr Hooch? Hooch is a surgeon, whose unstable behaviour in the original series culminated in him taking several interns hostage. As a result, he was fired, leaving it unclear precisely how he'll factor into this revival.
What else has Phill Lewis been in? Lewis has shifted to the director's chair in recent years, helming episodes of iCarly, How I Met Your Father, Frasier and Night Court. His other on-screen appearances include The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Friends, where he played Chandler's boss, Steve, in several episodes of season 9.
Vanessa Bayer as Sibby

Who is Sibby? Sibby is an employee of the Sacred Heart's human resources department, who attempts to ensure that the relationship between staff remains respectful at all times. Good luck!
What else has Vanessa Bayer been in? Bayer is best known for her seven-year stint in the cast of US sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live. She's also appeared in I Think You Should Leave, What We Do in the Shadows and last summer's belated sequel Freakier Friday.
Joel Kim Booster as Dr Eric Park

Who is Dr Eric Park? A doctor at the Sacred Heart, who joined in the time elapsed since the original series.
What else has Joel Kim Booster been in? Booster broke out in the cast of 2022 romcom Fire Island, which he wrote and starred in. Since then, he's appeared in Apple TV's Loot and BBC/HBO co-production Industry.
Ava Bunn as Serena

Who is Serena? One of the new recruits to the Sacred Heart, which JD and his ilk will have to mould into competent professionals.
What else has Ava Bunn been in? Bunn has previously made an appearance in Netflix comedy drama A Man on the Inside, starring Ted Danson.
Jacob Dudman as Asher

Who is Asher? Another of the trainee doctors.
What else has Jacob Dudman been in? Dudman's earlier projects include Netflix dramas The Stranger, Fate: The Winx Saga and The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die. He's also taken voice roles in numerous Doctor Who audio dramas from Big Finish, including playing The Doctor himself in some cases.
David Gridley as Blake

Who is Blake? Another new addition to the Sacred Heart's workforce.
What else has David Gridley been in? Gridley has recently appeared in High Potential, The Rookie and FBI: International.
Layla Mohammadi as Amara

Who is Amara? You guessed it: another trainee doctor!
What else has Layla Mohammadi been in? You may recognise Mohammadi from the first season of Paramount Plus hit series Special Ops: Lioness, where she played Nashwa.
Amanda Morrow as Dashana

Who is Dashana? Dashana completes our roster of fresh-faced trainee doctors, all of whom will have challenges to overcome in their early days on the job.
What else has Amanda Morrow been in? Morrow is a relative newcomer to the screen, although she has also bagged a role in the highly anticipated forthcoming sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2.
