Review
As we reach the grand final, it’s looking close between Katy Wix and Ed Gamble at the top of the leaderboard. Except hold on, this isn’t a golf tournament, it’s comedians and silly games. Nobody’s taking it seriously.
Apart from Ed Gamble. Ed Gamble is taking it very seriously, as we gather from his outburst when Greg Davies suggests it’s all about the spirit of the rules rather than the letter: “It’s never been about the spirit!” roars Ed, like a bridge club colonel about to have an aneurism.
The task-ees are all in dinner jackets and bow tie for a final that has some excellent challenges, including this test of creativity: “Do the most preposterous thing with this chickpea.” You have 20 minutes.
