But still, Christmas needs its trimmings, and in GTA Online, players have come to expect seasonal snowfall every year. It beats going outside! But when will it start? Read on to find out!

When is the GTA Online snow event? Confirmed date

The snow in GTA Online is expected to start on Tuesday 23rd December 2025. That's tomorrow, fact fans!

As for when the snow will end, that seems likely to be Wednesday 7th January 2026. So, you should be able to enjoy the snow on Christmas and New Year's Day. What fun!

Those dates (23rd December to 7th January) are the official window for this year's seasonal event, and they were confirmed on the official GTA blog.

What to expect from the GTA Online Christmas event

As well as the snowy conditions, Rockstar has told players to expect a few other presents this year.

The official blog promises that, if you play GTA Online between 23rd December and 7th January, you will "receive an assortment of holiday goodies, including new gifts like the Season’s Greetings Sweater and New Year Fireworks Bodysuit, as well as returning faves like the Snowball Launcher, Candy Cane, Firework Launcher with 20 Rockets, and refills of Snacks, Armor and Ammo.

"Subscribers to the Rockstar Propaganda email newsletter can also receive a special Red Festive Tree Hat in GTA Online between 18th December and 31st December when they log in and play." If you're not already signed up to that newsletter, you can do so at this link.

An array of festive modes will also be available during this period, including Yeti Hunt, Snowball Fights, The Gooch and Weazel Plaza Shootout.

There are also some challenges to try and rewards to collect over Christmas.

If you locate and destroy 25 snowmen, between 23rd December and 29th December, you'll earn the Snowman Outfit.

If you "fight off the Gooch", you’ll get the Gooch Outfit. And if you defeat the Weazel Plaza robbers, you will get the WM 29 Pistol.

You'll also want to keep your eyes peeled for the totally legally distinct eCola Happy Holidays Hauler, which will be driving around dropping off festive sweaters, in-game currency, snacks and ammo. It truly is the most magical time of the year!
