Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

In this misfiring thriller, a support group for murderers meets in a seedy part of London on the day of an assassination attempt on an American politician. As tension mounts and accusations fly between the members (who include Tim McInnerny and MyAnna Buring), the mysterious leader of another support group (Gary Oldman) watches from afar while dispensing advice by phone to other troubled killers. A tidy premise on paper is marred by a disjointed, haphazard script, which no amount of fast cuts or off-kilter camera angles can salvage. Director Martin Owen (Let's Be Evil) aims for the zest and attitude of early Guy Ritchie, but his film's lack of cohesion or even credible logic is likely to have viewers wishing the cast would just pull their guns on each other and put them out of everyone's misery.
