Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn may have skipped last night’s ITV Leaders’ debate, but fortunately Natalie stood in place for both of them. You know, Natalie? No? If it doesn’t ring a bell then ask UKIP leader Paul Nuttall, who referred to Plaid Cymru head Leanne Wood by the name. Twice.

Firstly, when talking to the Welsh politician about Brexit and the economy, Nuttall said: “Natalie, we have a huge trading deficit..." To which Leanne replied: "I'm not Natalie, I'm Leanne".

And the UKIP leader made the same gaffe again, saying "I think that Natalie's absolutely right, what we need to do is..."

She responded: "Will you please call me Leanne?"

Green co-leader Caroline Lucas joined in, laughing and implying Nuttall had problems remembering different women’s names.

And viewers couldn’t believe it…

But hey, it’s an easy mistake to make for the completely-and-totally-don’t-say-otherwise prepared Nuttall. He might have been getting Wood mixed up with former Green Leader Natalie Bennett, who joined in the debate on Twitter.

Nuttall 0, Natalie 1.
