4. Michael Smiley
Smiley made a cameo appearance as original 1977 Star Wars character Dr Evazan in 2016’s Rogue One, taking over the role from Alfie Curtis. He made his Doctor Who debut just a couple of years earlier, playing soldier Morgan Blue in Peter Capaldi’s second Doctor Who episode Into the Dalek.
5. Simon Pegg
Pegg, who played The Editor in the 2005 series of Doctor Who, later had his nerd dreams fulfilled to play scrap metal trader Unkar Plutt in 2015’s The Force Awakens (which he also consulted on for director JJ Abrams). Given his involvement in the Star Trek series, he really is quite the sci-fi triple threat.
6. Jimmy Vee
Vee is probably best known to Who fans for playing red spiky alien Bannakaffalatta in Doctor Who’s 2007 Christmas special, Voyage of the Damned. He also played various other aliens during the series’ run including the Graske and the Moxx of Balhoon.
In recent years, though, he’s picked up a much more prestigious role as R2-D2, taking over from original star Kenny Baker following his death in August 2016.
7. Navin Chowdhry
Chowdhry appeared in Doctor Who way back in 2005 as a government secretary called Indra Ganesh, who ends up being murdered by the Slitheen in Aliens of London.
His first Star Wars appearance, meanwhile, was quite a while later, with the actor playing a Resistance Cargo pilot for 2017’s The Last Jedi.
8. Lily Cole
Model-turned-actor Cole played the Siren in 2011 Who episode The Curse of the Black Spot, and more recently made her Star Wars debut in a cameo role during The Last Jedi.
Credited as “Party Girl Lovey,” she can be seen by the side of Justin Theroux’s Master Codebreaker during the Canto Bight casino sequence.
9. Danny Sapani
Sapani played an ill-fated Medical Frigate Captain in The Last Jedi, after previously bringing Colonel Manton to life in 2011 Who episode A Good Man Goes to War.
