Professor T season 2 release date: Cast, plot and latest news
Ben Miller is confirmed to be returning as the brilliant Professor Tempest.
Ben Miller's detective is back on ITV this September, with crime drama Professor T returning for a second season just over a year after the first debuted.
The series is based on an original Belgian series set in Antwerp, and stars Miller as Jasper Tempest while Harry Potter star Frances de la Tour plays his mother Adelaide.
This season will once again see the story set in Cambridge as the Professor helps the police solve unusual crimes - however, this season also sees the Professor get help of his own, as he embarks on therapy to unearth more secrets from his troubled childhood.
Miller previously told RadioTimes.com: "We had a script meeting last week. One thing I think I'm allowed to reveal is Professor T's gonna go into therapy, which is going to be fantastic.
"He's such a sort of quirky character and if anybody needs therapy, it's him. So yeah, I'm really, really looking forward to it."

Professor T season 2 release date
Professor T season 2 will premiere on ITV on Friday 16th September at 9pm. Episodes will also be available for catch-up on ITV Hub.
Speaking of the season 2 renewal, Miller said: "We’re incredibly grateful to the ITV and PBS audiences for taking Professor T to their hearts, and we are actively plotting an even quirkier and uplifting Season Two.
"Expect more baffling crimes, more breath-taking scenery, and some answers to the most intriguing mystery of all: what is it, exactly, in his childhood, that makes the Professor tick?"

Professor T season 2 cast
Ben Miller will be back to play the titular Professor T, while Frances de la Tour (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, The History Boys, Rising Damp) portrays Adelaide, the Professor's mother (with a somewhat smothering presence in her son's life).
Frances de la Tour previously discussed her role in Professor T in an exclusive chat with RadioTimes.com, during which she described Adelaide as "a wonderful character, because... well, she's monstrous, really! Which also makes her very funny." She will also be back for the second run.
She continued: "The character of Professor T himself is astonishingly complex, so the mother and the son is a powerful relationship. I mean, they're very dependent on each other and love each other, and fight each other. So the part did offer a lot of avenues to explore and to enjoy."
Emma Naomi plays brilliant detective Lisa Donckers, while Barney White plays her police sidekick (and potential love interest) Dan Winters.
