Charlie Hudson has to be the luckiest detective in Canada. He turns up at a murder scene looking like a pensive catalogue model, says, “Whaddya got, buddy?” after Rex sniffs out some vital clues and then gets the credit when the arrests are made. If it weren’t for that dog, I swear he’d be in uniform and on traffic duty.
But despite Hudson being at least ten paces behind his canine partner, this remains a brisk double bill of cosy crime-solving. And both of tonight’s mysteries – the first involving a woman found comatose in a graveyard, the second concerning the death of a controversial university professor – play fair with the viewers and have satisfying solutions.
