Rating: 4 out of 5.

Chilean film-maker Maite Alberdi's extraordinary documentary follows octogenarian Sergio Chamy as he goes under cover in a nursing home to report on alleged mistreatment of the elderly there. Despite having some 007 gadgets, he's no James Bond but he is the most charming, kind and courteous man. No wonder the women all fall in love with him. Alberdi's film crew are also in the home and neither they nor Chamy find any abuse, but they do record the desperate loneliness of the residents, many of whom have been abandoned by their families. It's a sobering and poignant report, but Chamy is an absolute star.
