Rufus Jones plays John Ammonds

John Ammonds was a British television producer of light entertainment. He produced Morecambe and Wise shows from 1968 to 1974.

Who is Rufus Jones?

W1A viewers will recognise Jones as enthusiastic entertainment producer David Wilkes. And if you’re not a W1A fan? He may be familiar from Tracey Ullman’s Show or Sky Atlantic comedies Hunderby and Camping.


Alex Macqueen plays Bill Cotton

Cotton was a British television producer and executive who oversaw the production of The Morecambe and Wise Show, Monty Python’s Flying Circus and The Two Ronnies.

Who is Alex Macqueen?

Yes, Macqueen is Neil’s Dad from The Inbetweeners and Julius Nicholson from The Thick of It. He’s also starred in Hunderby, Peaky Blinders series three and the very first episode of Black Mirror.

Macqueen has also been voicing The Master in the Dr Who audio series produced by Big Finish since 2013.
