Kylie Platt isn’t long for this earth. Yes, David’s wife will be killed off in Friday’s episodes of Coronation Street and while soap bosses are currently remaining tight-lipped as to how she meets her maker, we can reveal what happens in the wake of her untimely demise.
Next Monday’s episode will see a grieving David busying himself with Max and Lily, determined to stay strong for them, while a concerned Gail and Audrey watch on.
As for Gail, well, she’ll be assuring Michael that while her feelings for him haven’t changed, it’d be best if they put their relationship on hold for the time being as she needs to concentrate on David and the kids.
And it seems that her younger son will need a lot of TLC – expect the David Platt of old to rear his head as he grows determined to point the finger of blame at someone for Kylie’s death. Corrie fans should be braced for David turning into a one-man vigilante as he becomes a man possessed.
By Wednesday, David will be seen visiting Sarah in hospital and breaking the news to her of Kylie’s death. A jittery Sarah then grows convinced that Callum is in some way connected to what has happened. Afterwards, David visits Kylie in the chapel of rest and tells her how much he loves her and misses her.
Thursday’s visit to Corrie finds Bethany arriving at the hospital just in time to witness Sarah packing her bag. Sarah explains that she needs to leave in order to help David, but Bethany begs her to stay in hospital until she’s better for Harry’s sake. Sarah reluctantly agrees.
Back on the Street, David is demanding justice, but Gail is more worried about Max, who’s clearly upset.
Finally, a traumatic week on the Street ends on Friday with Gail and Audrey gently suggesting to David that he needs to start thinking about Kylie’s funeral and what she would have wanted. Subsequently, touching scenes will see Gail arriving home to find David, Max and Lily colouring in at the table.
As David explains that they’re making things for Kylie’s funeral. Gail is left choked with emotion…
