Evil Finn O'Connor (Keith Rice) looks set to get his comeuppance after being publicly exposed as a rapist by John Paul McQueen (James Sutton).
In scenes broadcast during last night's first-look episode on E4, John Paul spoke out during Nancy's wedding when he admitted that he had been raped by the twisted teen.
The revelation came after Nancy (Jessica Fox) recognised Finn's aftershave and realised that he was the one who had attempted to rape her. With Nancy struggling to get her point across, JP stepped in and revealed that he too had been attacked by Finn.
"John Paul felt like he had to say something now, because Nancy came to the conclusion in the pub that Finn was the one who had tried to rape her and nobody believed her. People were pouring scorn on Nancy for coming to that conclusion, so as her friend, John Paul knew that he had to do the right thing," actor James Sutton told Digital Spy. "You'll see that John Paul also finds it a relief that he's now said those words in front of everybody."
Channel 4 viewers will get the chance to see the pivotal scenes again at 6.30pm, while E4 will follow up at 7pm with an episode that sees JP, Nancy and Robbie (Charlie Wernham) all make police statements.
"It's been important to get the message across that we should break the silence around male rape," Sutton added. "From an actor's point of view, I've had a lot of big episodes, big scenes and quite an emotional journey to go on with the character of John Paul this year. That's all been great, but it's fantastic now that the truth is coming out and everything is coming to light."
