Meet the cast of Call the Midwife series six

Who's who at Nonnatus House?

Fred Buckle (Cliff Parisi)

Widowed Fred is the likeable handyman at Nonnatus House. He fell in love with, and eventually married, shop owner Violet at the end of series four.

Cliff spent eight years in Eastenders playing the role of Rick ‘Minty’ Peterson. Since leaving Albert Square in 2010, he has juggled his time between Call The Midwife and appearances in series including Outnumbered and Hustle.

Sister Winifred (Victoria Yeates)

After living most of her life in the countryside, Sister Winifred came to Nonnatus House as quite an innocent young woman. Over the past few series she has grown in confidence.

Victoria joined the cast of Call the Midwife for the drama’s third series in 2014. Prior to starring in the show, she had taken on small roles in Lip Service and Holby City.

Sgt. Peter Noakes (Ben Caplan)

Police officer Peter Noakes, who was promoted to Sergeant at the beginning of series four, takes his work very seriously and is a devoted husband and father to Camilla (Miranda Hart) and son Freddie.

A Call the Midwife cast original, Ben Caplan is also recognisable for his roles in Band of Brothers, The Passion, The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies and most recently, BBC drama New Blood.

Rev. Tom Hereward (Jack Ashton)

The dashing vicar made quite the impression on Trixie and the pair soon embarked on a relationship and became engaged in series four. However, after she broke it off, Tom started dating Trixie’s colleague Barbara Gilbert. The pair became engaged during a trip to South Africa – will they set a date for the wedding in series six?

Jack Ashton joined the cast during series three and has previously starred in an episode of Broadchurch, Vicious and Holby City.
