Crime thriller starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen. This chilly mystery stars Jeremy Renner as a Wyoming game tracker who finds the body of a local girl on the Wind River reservation. When Elizabeth Olsen's FBI agent arrives to investigate, he helps her solve a brutal crime shrouded in a conspiracy of silence. Written and directed by Taylor Sheridan (best known for his screenplays for Denis Villeneuve's Sicario and David Mackenzie's Hell or High Water), this delivers a heady mix of politics and pulp that addresses the authorities' indifference to crime on Native American soil. Sadly, a great start gives way to a lot of overly earnest talk and slightly patronising philosophising, but things get back on track for a tense, all-guns-blazing climax.
