Charlize Theron does the majority of her own stunts here, playing an MI6 spy tracking down a list of double agents during the final days of the Berlin Wall. Director David Leitch's adaptation of graphic novel The Coldest City merges John Wick with John Le Carré, Bourne and Bond for a sexy gut-punch of a movie. Designed with a comic-book-panel look, Atomic Blonde delivers cool and calculated style over dramatic substance as Theron shoots her way through a series of barnstorming set pieces, including a fight down a staircase seemingly filmed in one unbroken take. Disposable popcorn fluff it may be, but the action is brutally kinetic and the killer 1980s soundtrack is a Deutschland Disco delight.

MI6 operative Lorraine Broughton is sent to Berlin before the fall of the wall to investigate the murder of a fellow spy and recover a missing list of double agents. The city is in a dangerously unstable state, and she finds herself targetted by multiple factions plotting to exploit the uncertain future for their own ruthless ends. Thriller, starring Charlize Theron, James McAvoy and John Goodman.
