The Carter family's pet British bulldog Lady Di is to get a storyline of her own in the coming weeks. In scenes to be shown on Tuesday 28 January, Johnny (Sam Strike) will inform Linda (Kellie Bright) of how much money they can make from breeding Lady Di - all of which leads the Carter matriarch to make sure that her beloved dog does not get impregnated by an unsuitable partner. But is a pair of panties really the answer?
Speaking to Radio Times recently, actor Danny Dyer - who plays landlord Mick Carter - revealed which of the cast Lady Di (real name: Hot Lips) had taken to the most:
“Whoever has the bit of ham to feed her. She’s got an owner and a trainer on set with her. This dog’s got an entourage. Linda Henry [who plays Shirley] is actually the best with her. She’s like a dog whisperer.
“You know, bulldogs look aggressive, but they’re not. They’re soft, to be fair. But we’re still finding our feet and so is she. Just look at her little paws – she doesn’t know what she’s doing half the time. But generally, she’s as good as gold. She has her moments, but we’re nightmares sometimes, too.”
