Green Wing icon joins Sweetpea season 2 as returning and new cast confirmed for killer drama
A number of familiar faces are joining Ella Purnell in the next episodes.

Sky's darkly comic serial killer thriller Sweetpea has made some big-name additions to its second season, with stars from Green Wing, Overcompensating and Heartstopper.
Ella Purnell (of Yellowjackets and Fallout fame) will once again lead the cast as Rhiannon Lewis, an unassuming young woman hiding a deadly secret – that she has an insatiable appetite for murder.
The synopsis teases: "Navigating a new promotion, an irresistible rebound, Marina still hot on her trail, her sister selling her family home and a copycat killer threatening to expose her, the kill list is mounting.
"But now that she's harnessed her rage and found her power, Rhiannon is forced to question whether her perfect ex, AJ, was right: is she a monster?"
Sky has confirmed that Green Wing, Friday Night Dinner and Dick Turpin alum Tamsin Greig will be joining Sweetpea for season 2, playing the mother of the late AJ (who was portrayed by Calam Lynch in the first chapter).
Greig isn't the only new recruit, however, with Overcompensating's Rish Shah also boarding in the role of Gabriel – Rhiannon's latest love interest – while Taj Atwal (Daddy Issues) is set to play her new boss, Freya.
Heartstopper alum Jenny Walser, known for playing the introverted sister to Charlie Spring (Joe Locke), has also been cast as Daisy, who is said to become an "adoring" new friend of Rhiannon's.
Whether any of these unfortunate individuals will survive their experience with the devious killer remains to be seen.
Executive producers Ella Purnell, Ella Jones and Patrick Walters commented in a statement: "We are thrilled that Sweetpea and the world of Carnsham are back in full swing for season 2, with new and exciting characters for what promises to be an intoxicating ride for Rhiannon as she continuous on her murderous journey.

"This season, the stakes are even higher, and as the consequences of her actions begin to close in, questions of morality and justice will come into play."
Meghan Lyvers, head of Sky UK and Ireland's scripted originals, said: "We are delighted to return with some fan favourites and to introduce a brilliant new cast of such high calibre.
"Sweetpea's second season will be packed with wickedly funny moments, dynamic storytelling and, as ever, twisted morality."
In addition to the new Sweetpea cast members above, season 2 will see the return of Jon Pointing (Big Boys), Jeremy Swift (Ted Lasso), Leah Harvey (Foundation), Ingrid Oliver (Thursday Murder Club), Nitin Ganatra (Mr Bigstuff) and Alexandra Dowling (Emily).
Sweetpea is available on Sky and NOW. Season 2 coming soon.
