Who was Tony Benn? A British politician and Labour MP who was a Cabinet minister under Harold Wilson and James Callaghan. Over the course of his life he moved further and further to the left. (His son Hilary Benn has followed in his political footsteps.)

A British Labour politician, who worked with Harold Wilson as private secretary, and then political secretary, and head of political office – working with him from the late 1950s onwards. As The Guardian wrote in her obituary, everyone agreed that Williams “was the single most influential figure among his staff. She exerted an unrivalled degree of power throughout his four periods in office as prime minister and ran his office for 27 years, but became a source of conflict and division that clouded his years in Downing Street and ultimately diminished his political standing.”

Who is Henry Dimbleby? As you might guess from the surname, Henry is a Dimbleby. He is the grandson of Richard Dimbleby and the son of David, and is better-known as a businessman and cookery writer who co-founded a chain of restaurants. He is not an actor, but seems to have been recruited for this one-off role in The Crown.
