Milla Jovovich in talks to star in new film based on George RR Martin’s short stories

In the Lost Lands is adapted from three of the Game of Thrones creator's fantasy adventure tales

Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich is in talks to star in In the Lost Lands, a new fantasy adventure film inspired by Game Of Thrones author George RR Martin‘s short stories.

The movie, which marks the first time that Martin’s works have been adapted for the screen outside of HBO’s Game Of Thrones, is based on three of the author’s fantasy adventure tales.

Jovovich looks set to play a sorceress named Gray Alys who travels into the eerie wasteland called the Lost Lands to obtain the gift of shapeshifting into a werewolf, unaware that when her wish is fulfilled, it will come at a terrible price.

Another plot thread sees warrior girl Sharra fight a dragon that serves as the gatekeeper of seven worlds to reunite with her lost lover Kaydar, only to forget about her quest after being seduced by a mysterious lord.

A third and final story in the film is inspired by Bitterblooms, the futuristic tale of a young barbarian girl who gets spellbound by a lonely witch in a spacecraft whose promise of beauty and love turns out to be a net of lies and deceit.

If Jovovich does sign on, she’ll join US Shameless actor Justin Chatwin in the fantasy movie, written and directed by German director Constantin Werner (The Pagan Queen). Filming is expected to start in Germany in late 2015.
