Sophie Turner claims to be only Game of Thrones cast member happy with character ending
"I feel like I got a good one".

Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner has said she was one of the few cast members happy with the fate of their character at the end of the show.
The epic fantasy show, which was based on the George RR Martin book series, came to an end in 2019 with season 8, and proved to be divisive, with many fans claiming that various character arcs and storylines had been left unresolved.
But speaking to The Direct, Turner said she was “very happy” with the fate of her character.
Asked whether she’d be interested in reprising her role as Sansa Stark in one of the “sequel” projects that Martin recently revealed are in the works, the Steal star said: "Show me the money. I don't know, I think it would be hard but also amazing to come back to it."
She continued: "But I feel that I was very happy with the way Sansa ended her story in Game of Thrones, and no one else was really happy with their ending. I feel like I got a good one, and so I don't know if I could revisit it."
However, she didn’t completely rule out a return, saying she would “have to see a script”.
She explained: "Maybe it would be an utter joy, or maybe it would be trying to cling on to something that was magic back in the day that can't be recreated. I would have to see a script."

While Game of Thrones came to an end back in 2018, the fantasy franchise has since expanded with a number of prequel shows, most notably House of the Dragon, which premiered with its first season in 2022 and has since been given the green light for a third and fourth season.
A second prequel show A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is also set to premiere later this month, with the series serving as an adaptation of Martin’s Tales Of Dunk And Egg.
Martin recently revealed there are still plenty of prequels in development, and also said that a few ideas for sequels are in the works, too.
"Apart from The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon, there are other Game of Thrones spinoff projects in development. Most are prequels," he told Spanish-language site Los siete reinos (AKA The Seven Kingdoms)."
He continued: "There are several in development, five or six series, and I'm not developing them alone, I'm working with other people. Yes, there are some sequels."
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms debuts on Sky and NOW from 19 January 2026.
