With the finale of Robin Hood having now aired on MGM+, thoughts will naturally turn to whether or not we can anticipate further episodes in the future.

The series kicked off at the start of November, boasting the likes of Sean Bean (This City Is Ours) and Connie Nielsen (Gladiator II) among the ensemble, with the cast also including Jack Patten as the titular character, known in this series as Rob.

The 10-part drama brought "a modern energy to the classic tale of the roguish outlaw hero," according to the show's synopsis, but the question remains as to whether or not we can look ahead to another season. Patten has recently spoken about the possibility of doing a second season, telling Manchester Evening News: "We would love to do a [season] 2. That would be awesome."

But will it happen? Read on for everything we know so far.

As of now, MGM+ have not renewed Robin Hood for season 2.

However, seeing as the series has just completed airing on the platform, we're sure its future will be confirmed in due course.

Patten told Manchester Evening News: "Jonathan [English] and John [Glenn] just wrote awesome characters. As actors we love an arc, you can't ask for much more."

McQueen said she’d “definitely” be up for returning if the series is renewed.

"I think the season ends quite interestingly for every single character," she explained. "I think it could develop, but we just wanted to do the best we could for season 1.

She continued: "It's a really exciting young cast as well, so talented. I'm so excited for everyone to see new actors.

"We were just like a big family at the end and I think you can really see that energy on screen."

When could a potential Robin Hood season 2 be released?

Seeing as Robin Hood hasn't yet been renewed for season 2, it's hard to tell just when a potential new season could be released.

It would obviously depend on writing and schedules, but if it were to be green lit soon, we could potentially anticipate new episodes in late 2026 or 2027.

Who could return for a potential Robin Hood season 2?
