Kris Marshall is set to return to the fictional Devonshire town of Shipton Abbott, reprising his role as the charming Detective Humphrey Goodman.

As reported by The Express, a fan account on Facebook confirmed that season four of the cosy crime drama had began filming, posting a series of behind-the-scenes pictures.

Such pictures included a shot of a sign indicating "BP Unit", alongside a caption reading "Back filming in Cornwall".

Other fans in the comments quickly appeared to identify the location, with one eagle-eyed viewer writing: "The sign is at St Mellion Golf Club; it's where they store their filming trailers and lorries."

While the BBC are yet to confirm an official air date for season 4, it's expected to air some time in 2026. So far, plot details also remain scarce, though there are certainly enough loose-ends to tie up in the new run.

The third season of Beyond Paradise wrapped up on something of a tragic note, with Humphrey and Martha saying goodbye to their foster daughter Rosie. Fans are, of course, eager to find out what could happen next for the couple: Will they welcome another foster child into their lives? And will they finally tie the knot?

Marshall joined the original Death in Paradise series in 2014, taking over from Ben Miller as the lead Saint Marie detective. He departed the main series in 2017, with his character choosing to return to the UK, but his story continued in 2023 in Beyond Paradise, with Humphrey now settled and ready to marry fiancée Martha (Sally Britton).

Aside from Marshall, we'd also likely expect returns from Sally Britton as Martha, Barbara Flynn as Anne Lloyd, Zahra Ahmadi as DS Esther Williams, Dylan Llewellyn as PC Kelby Hartford, Felicity Montagu as Margo Martins, Melina Sinadinou as Zoe Williams and Jade Harrison as CS Charlie Woods, in the upcoming run.

Meanwhile, over in Saint Marie, original series Death in Paradise has been confirmed for a 15th season, with actor Don Gilet confirming on Instagram that he and the rest of the cast and crew would begin filming in April.

Beyond Paradise seasons 1-3 and Death in Paradise seasons 1-14 are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
