Netflix is getting us all nostalgic as one of the biggest shows of the 1990s is about to land on the streaming platform, allowing subscribers to relive the highs and lows of some of TV's most photogenic medical professionals.

All 15 seasons of ER will be available to binge at your convenience on Netflix UK and Ireland from Monday 9th February 2026 – that's more than 300 episodes unfolding in the bustling Cook County General Hospital.

The series once held the title of the longest-running primetime medical drama in American television history, until Shonda Rhimes's evergreen juggernaut Grey's Anatomy overtook it back in 2018.

Regardless, ER still holds a high place in television history, having helped launch the careers of George Clooney (Jay Kelly), Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife), Alex Kingston (Doctor Who) and Noah Wyle (The Pitt), among others.

It is also credited for creating the template that modern medical dramas, including Grey's, have adopted and continued to build upon, blending high-stakes workplace scenarios with the compelling personal struggles of staff members.

For that service, it was rewarded with a whopping 124 Emmy nominations, of which it won 23, including Outstanding Supporting Actress (for Margulies) and Outstanding Drama Series (in 1996).

ER finally concluded in April 2009, with later cast additions Parminder Nagra (DI Ray), Maura Tierney (The Iron Claw), Linda Cardellini (Dead to Me), John Stamos (Palm Royale) and Angela Bassett (Black Panther) leading the show at that time.

Unlike so many other high-profile TV shows – including some very recent efforts – ER was able to stick the landing with season 15 finale And in the End..., which currently holds an impressive 9.2/10 user score on IMDb.

Original ER cast member Wyle has recently found further success in the realm of medical drama as the star of HBO Max's The Pitt, which has recently picked up awards at this year's Emmys and Golden Globes.

Alas, the acclaimed series is yet to find a home in the UK. Hopefully, an ER resurgence on Netflix can help fill the void until it does.

ER is coming to Netflix UK on Monday 9th February 2026.
