Dick Wolf knows a thing or two about crafting an action-packed, gripping series as the founding father of Law & Order. Following in those mighty footsteps of Wolf's seminal series was FBI, which has gone on to have eight seasons and multiple spin-off series.

Now, the team behind FBI are reuniting for yet another show that's set to leave viewers on the edge of their seats – CIA. We know, so many acronyms! But this series is set to see the CIA and FBI join forces to work on covert operations in order to protect their country.

Heading up the cast are Tom Ellis (Lucifer) and Nick Gehlfuss (Chicago Med), who are "a bit like a bickering married couple at times", according to Ellis.

With a high-octane trailer having just been released and episodes set to land in the US later this month, many UK fans may be left wondering just where and when the series will be airing on this side of the pond.

Read on for everything we know so far.

Can you watch CIA in the UK?

As of now, a UK broadcaster has not been confirmed for CIA.

However, seeing as FBI and its various other spin-off shows have aired on Sky and NOW in the UK, we can hazard a guess that that's where we might be seeing CIA. As for when we can expect the series to land in the UK, we'll just have to be patient and see.

CIA premieres in the US on CBS on Monday 23 February at 10pm, with episodes set to air weekly.

Some of the US shows air in the UK at the same time or just a few weeks after its American release, but some series don't air until many months after. So, you'll just have to watch this space.

What is CIA about?

The series follows the joined-up CIA and FBI approach to covert operations, with an unlikely duo at its centre.

As per the official CIA synopsis: "When by-the-book FBI Special Agent Bill Goodman (Nick Gehlfuss) is loaned out to a clandestine CIA/FBI task force, he finds himself teamed up with secretive and roguish CIA case officer Colin Glass (Tom Ellis).

"Together they will work covert operations in New York, uncovering international plots, terrorist cells, and geopolitical secrets. On CIA, Bill will learn the rules of this murky world on the fly as Colin leads him deeper into spy games where only one thing is clear – their work keeps America safe, even if no one will ever know what they did in the shadows."

Lead stars Ellis and Gehlfuss were already friends before embarking on heading up the series together, with Ellis saying of how that fed into their characters (via Deadline): "It was kind of strange. Like when we did a chemistry screen test for it, but it wasn’t the regular kind, standing in front of a blue screen in front of one camera.

"We had a mini crew, and we went out on location in New York to shoot a couple of dummy scenes. It was pretty seamless. We just kind of fell into it, and we started doing it and finding the beat immediately. And we’re enjoying the process of working together, and everything just fell into place."

Is there a CIA trailer?

There is! You can watch the trailer below for yourself.

You can also watch an early teaser trailer starring Ellis:
