With the start of Beyond Paradise season 4 now just over a week away, a first-look trailer has been unveiled, giving us a glimpse of the cases and personal developments for Kris Marshall's Humphrey and the team this time around.

The trailer sees the introduction of Vincent Franklin's character, who is seen telling Humphrey that the police force is downsizing, and therefore he has to choose who to lose from his team - Zahra Ahmadi's Esther, Dylan Llewellyn's Kelby or Felicity Montagu's Margo.

Meanwhile, the trailer teases that one of the cases this season could be a murder, a rarity for Beyond Paradise which often focuses on lower level crimes, and sees Humphrey and Sally Bretton's Martha buying their new marital home.

You can watch the trailer right here now.

The new season will once again be made up of six episodes, and will follow on from the 2025 Christmas special with saw Humphrey and Martha finally tie the knot, with Humphrey's old boss Selwyn (Don Warrington) popping up to be his best man.

The synopsis for the new season says of the police team: "Fact and folklore blur as they investigate the death of a novelist who predicted their demise, a magical night of Dark Morris that soon turns sour, a stolen treasure map that suddenly reappears, and the alleged sighting of a vengeful mermaid lurking out at sea."

The synopsis continues: "DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and Martha (Sally Bretton) launch into married life as they search for a new home, whilst Humphrey wrestles with an impossible decision that may change the lives of everyone at the station forever."

Guest stars set to appear this time around include Gavin & Stacey favourite Melanie Walters, and The War Between the Land and the Sea's Colin McFarlane, while EastEnders' Phil Daniels will be returning as his fisherman character from season 1, Marvellous Harris.

Beyond Paradise season 4 arrives on BBC One and iPlayer on Friday 27 March at 8pm.
