Bergerac season 2 first look teases "most challenging" case yet as release window also confirmed
The detective's troubles are far from over in season 2...

A new trailer has given fans a glimpse of what they can expect in Bergerac season 2, while a release window has also been confirmed.
The upcoming season of the reimagining of the hit '80s series, which will see Jim Bergerac (Damien Molony) return to our screens as he faces the “most challenging case of his career”, will land on U and U&DRAMA in spring 2026.
Bergerac season 2 will follow on from the first season, which saw Jim struggling to piece his life back together following the death of his wife.
And it looks like the detective’s struggles are far from over in the new trailer, which shows Jim tackling a new case after chaos unfolds at a wedding reception on Jersey, while simultaneously navigating a new romantic relationship with Nicola (Camilla Beeput).
“In the same breath as meeting Nicola, Bergerac is pulled into his next big case when the groom at a wedding reception is found murdered in his hotel room,” the official plot synopsis teases.
It continues: “Could the groom’s final words hold the key to the killer’s identity? Jersey needs their best detective to start digging.”

Alongside Molony and Beeput, Bergerac season 2 will also star Lesley Sharp, Charles Dale, Turlough Convery, Georgina Rich and Jonathan Aris, among other stars.
Molony previously revealed that original Bergerac actor John Nettles gave him some warm words of encouragement about the reboot.
"I had lunch with him last week and he was just so lovely, and he said so many nice things about the first episode too," said Molony.
"He finished our lunch saying, 'Bergerac has been so good to me and my career, and I really hope it does the same for you', which I just thought was a really lovely sentiment, and it just goes to show how much of a good guy he is."
