All three episodes of Agatha Christie's Seven Dials are now available to stream on Netflix, with the series adapting Christie's lesser-known 1929 novel The Seven Dials Mystery.

Starring Mia McKenna-Bruce, Martin Freeman and Helena Bonham Carter, the series follows Lady Eileen 'Bundle' Brent, who becomes an amateur sleuth after a mysterious, shocking death takes place following a country house party.

But are we likely to get a follow-up to this series, with Bundle investigating another mystery? Or could Netflix simply commission a new, separate Christie adaptation?

Read on for everything you need to know about the potential for Agatha Christie's Seven Dials season 2.

Will there be a second Agatha Christie series on Netflix?

We don't yet know whether there will be a follow-up to Agatha Christie's Seven Dials on Netflix. While Christie's novel has been adapted in full for the series, there is still always the potential for the characters to return to take on another mystery.

One option could be an adaptation of The Secret of Chimney's, a novel featuring Bundle that was released before The Seven Dials Mystery.

However, speaking with RadioTimes.com, writer Chris Chibnall seemingly shot this down.

He said: "[The] Secret [of] Chimneys comes before Seven Dials, and the character of Bundle is quite different, actually, in the book. So I don't think there's a natural prequel or all that kind of stuff."

There are also three other novels featuring Superintendent Battle - Cards on the Table, Murder Is Easy and Towards Zero. The latter two of these were recently adapted by the BBC.

On the prospect of any sort of follow-up, or simply another, unrelated Christie adaptation for Netflix, Chibnall said: "At the moment, to be honest, because we're only just finishing making it, I'm just really excited to put this out into the world and see what happens and how people receive it. Because I think what we talked about right at the start was, 'Can we make this a delicious treat?'

"It’s a treat, hopefully, when it lands on the 15th January. We really used that as our north star when we were making it. It’s a conversation I had with Chris Sweeney, our brilliant director, of like, 'How is that going to feel? This is a Christie for Netflix, rather than the US movies or the BBC adaptations, which are all amazing, but what's our specific thing?'

"And I think that sense of a really enjoyable treat with the absolute best of British actors is the big thing. So, at the moment, we’re just like, 'Okay, we're going to put this out into the world now, and who knows what's going to happen?'"

We will make sure to keep this page updated if anything is announced regarding further Christie adaptations on Netflix.

When would a new Agatha Christie series debut on Netflix?

It's hard to say when another Agatha Christie adaptation would debut on Netflix, given that one has yet to be confirmed.

However, we would imagine that if one were confirmed, we could still be waiting a while. After all, Agatha Christie's Seven Dials was first announced in March 2024, yet is only just now coming to Netflix two years later.

We would therefore imagine that a release date in early 2027 could be possible - but, of course, that is just speculation for now.

Who from Agatha Christie's Seven Dials would return for a new series on Netflix?

It's hard to say who from the cast of Agatha Christie's Seven Dials could return for another series. If Netflix were to order a direct follow-up or prequel, Mia McKenna-Bruce's Lady Eileen 'Bundle' Brent and Martin Freeman's Superintendent Battle would be the most likely returnees, given that their characters have also appeared in other Christie novels.

However, there is perhaps a better chance that the streamer will choose to adapt a brand-new Christie story, with no in-story ties to Seven Dials. If this were the case, then we would expect a brand-new cast to appear, likely made up of other big name actors.
