What time does MultiVersus launch in the UK?

The MultiVersus open beta launch time will be 5pm BST for players in the UK.

From that time, you should be able to download and access the MultiVersus closed beta without spending a penny, unless you opt-in for the optional microtransactions.

MultiVersus open beta and closed alpha details

A number of tests are being held to give players a chance to try MultiVersus before its full release, and these have already started to happen!

The MultiVersus closed alpha was the first of these tests, and it ran from 19th May to 27th May. Players who took part in it first had to declare their interest on the game's official website.

This will be followed by the MultiVersus open beta, which is due to begin on 26th July across all available platforms. Some players will be able to access it early, too.

Can I get early access to MultiVersus?

Some lucky players will be able to access the MultiVersus open beta before everyone else, with this early access period starting on 19th July at 5pm BST here in the UK.

There are two ways to get early access: gamers that took part in the closed alpha are eligible, and the rest of us can earn access via Twitch Drops. There are a few steps to follow on the game's website if you want to do the Twitch Drops method! You also get early access by buying the Founder's Pack.

Is MultiVersus free?

Yes, one thing we know is that MultiVersus will be free-to-play when the open beta begins, meaning that you won't have to spend a penny to download the game and start playing.

There will be microtransactions in the game itself, and a Founder's Pass you can buy to get a few digital items, but the basic gameplay experience won't cost you anything.

Which consoles and platforms can play MultiVersus?

It has been confirmed that MultiVersus will launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC via digital download on Steam.

There is no sign of a MultiVersus Nintendo Switch release at the moment, but we'll update this page if that gets confirmed at a later date.

Is MultiVersus crossplay?

Yes, MultiVersus will be a cross-play title, allowing you to play with your pals regardless of which platform they're playing on.

The trailer also promised "dedicated server-based rollback netcode", which should apparently mean there isn't any input lag getting in the way of your fun with friends.

MultiVersus gameplay

The MultiVersus trailer (which we've embedded slightly further down this page) made it clear that there will be several different ways to take part in MultiVersus gameplay.

Although you will be able to enter the fray as a solo fighter, the trailer made a point of highlighting the 2v2 battle format, where you'll play in pairs and work with your co-op partner to try and dish out powerful combos and interlinked attacks.

You will also be able to form a guild with your friends and challenge other guilds in combat, with the trailer making it clear that social features such as this will be a part of the game.

Other confirmed MultiVersus gameplay modes include 1v1 battles and 4-player 'free for alls'.
