Home Alone to air on TV today in tribute to Catherine O'Hara
The classic Christmas film will air on E4.

A schedule change has been announced for E4 today (Sunday 1st February 2026), meaning that 1990 Christmas classic Home Alone will air instead of an intended airing of Sister Act.
The change has been made as a tribute to the late Catherine O'Hara, who died at the age of 71 on Friday 31st January. In one of her most famous roles, she starred in Home Alone as Kate, the mother of Macaulay Culkin's character Kevin.
The film will air at 5:50pm on E4 on Sunday 1st February. It is also available to watch now on Disney Plus.
Culkin was one of the first to pay tribute to O'Hara following the news of her passing, posting two photos of the two of them - one recent, one from Home Alone - to Instagram, along with a message.

The message read: "Mama. I thought we had time. I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you. But I had so much more to say. I love you. I’ll see you later."
Along with her role in Home Alone, O'Hara was known for starring in the comedy-drama series Schitt's Creek, as well as films including After Hours, Beetlejuice and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
More recently, she leant her voice to characters in the films Elemental and The Wild Robot, and starred in both the first season of Apple TV comedy The Studio and the second season of HBO's hit video game adaptation The Last of Us.

Her Schitt's Creek co-star Eugene Levy was another of those to pay tribute to O'Hara, saying in a statement: "Words seem inadequate to express the loss I feel today. I had the honour of knowing and working with the great Catherine O’Hara for over fifty years.
"From our beginnings on the Second City stage, to SCTV, to the movies we did with Chris Guest, to our six glorious years on Schitt’s Creek, I cherished our working relationship, but most of all our friendship. And I will miss her. My heart goes out to Bo, Matthew, Luke, and the entire O'Hara family."
Home Alone is available to stream on Disney Plus - you can sign up to Disney+ from £5.99 a month now.
