Our Score
The final chapter of the Maze Runner trilogy unfolds in dramatic fashion as Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) and his group of renegades look to take down evil organisation WCKD and put an end to their experiments on children in the pursuit of a cure for a killer virus. It's action packed from the very start, as director Wes Ball throws his cast head first into a finale with some spectacular set pieces and a lot of energy. The plot mainly serves to bring closure to the previous two films in a way that will satisfy fans, and it isn't particularly complex, so newcomers to the saga will not be left entirely flummoxed. The bloated running time may stretch the patience, however, with the final act in particular dragging, as our heroes confront their destiny. This patchy conclusion will delight fans, who can overlook the film's flaws and be swept up in the sentiment. Those without a vested interest may struggle to do the same.

A group of young people try to save their friends who are being held captive. Final part of the sci-fi saga based on James Dashner's novels, starring Dylan O'Brien, Ki Hong Lee and Kaya Scodelario.
