Review

A star rating of 1 out of 5.

Sharks are scooped up out of the ocean and launched by tornados onto the streets of LA in this straight-to-TV schlocker. This film shouldn't have worked. The idea probably shouldn't even have made it off the back of a beer mat. But it was seized upon in social media circles because it is, of course, so bad it's good. The special effects are laughable, as is the staging. There are lots of screaming girls in bikinis, people get ravaged by sharks, unnoticed, and at one point, an old woman takes a dramatic tumble into a pool, despite having been seated at a safe distance from the edge. Tara Reid and Ian Ziering inspire yells of disbelief as an estranged couple whose car still works after being fully submerged in water, and the science behind the finale - involving bombs and high winds - is also highly questionable. But this is a film where sharks fly. Enough said.
