The Colosseum, the famous gladiatorial arena in the heart of Rome, was the fitting venue for the launch of this year's Six Nations tournament.
Michael Potts, Radio Times' sports editor, was duly despatched to Italy to get the inside stories from the six captains and TV pundits. As Michael says, standing in that ancient amphitheatre, the weight of history was not lost on these modern-day gladiators. Are they ready? We'll find out when the first round of matches is completed on Saturday.
