There's an almighty shock for Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) in the latest edition of Emmerdale (Monday 14th July 2025).

With Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) now unable to carry a child of her own after undergoing an emergency hysterectomy, her grandfather Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) suggests she turn to surrogacy.

While Cain goes to nephew Aaron (Danny Miller) for advice based on his own past experience with surrogacy, Cain's focus on the subject comes at the expense of his grief for son Nate (Jurell Carter), leading to poor judgements when choosing an agency.

Meanwhile, Sarah's grandmother Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) suddenly remembers that Sarah has other relatives in the village, and she visits Victoria, asking if the chef will be a surrogate for her niece.

Charity does her best to convince Vic, but it's clear that she's reeling from such a life-changing request.

As the week continues, Vic's half-brother Robert (Ryan Hawley) is furious to hear about what's been asked of her, and the first Sarah hears about this is when Robert shows up to confront Charity!

It seems we already know what Vic's answer will be, as Charity will later offer to carry a baby for Sarah herself.

With Charity failing to talk it through with husband Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), trouble is brewing!

As for the Sugden branch, will Sarah's reappearance in the lives of her paternal aunt and uncle lead anywhere in the future?

And will Sarah get her baby dream?
