The actress played the villainous character Sadie King for a two-year stint between 2004 and 2006 on the ITV soap.

According to The Sun, the star will return as the character in a "dramatic storyline" later this year.

Sadie first appeared on Emmerdale back in 2004 as the former wife of Jimmy King.

She was involved in some huge storylines over the years, including an ongoing feud with Charity Dingle.

The character also became embroiled in a revenge scheme against Jimmy after things soured between them, which saw her and her lover Cain Dingle kidnap Tom King and demand a ransom.

However, the storyline ultimately led to Sadie's exit in 2006 after Cain double-crossed her, taking the money from Tom and leaving her with nothing.

Kensit's dramatic storylines and fiery personality soon cemented her as a fan favourite, winning in 2005 and 2006 at the Inside Soap Awards.

Following her exit from Emmerdale, the star went on to play Faye Morton in Holby City and later Lola Pearce's mother Emma Harding in EastEnders.
