Foundation season 3 star Jared Harris reveals "tired" storyline he wanted to change
The upcoming season will see the biggest threat yet as The Mule emerges.
As we gear up for Foundation season 3 to finally hit our screens, star Jared Harris has revealed the one storyline he's ready to put to bed.
The upcoming instalment, which will see Harris return as various incarnations of psychohistorian Hari Seldon alongside Lou Llobell's Gaal Dornick, is set to raise the stakes once more as the pair prepare to battle The Mule (now played by Pilou Asbæk).
Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com about the input he had on the scripts for season 3, Harris said that he pushed for Hari and Gaal to become more like equals this time around, following the past couple of seasons, which have seen Hari keep Gaal in the dark about important decisions.
"There were a couple of things. One was that I was tired with the idea of Hari blindsiding Gaal all time, we’d done that already," he explained.

He added: "At this point, can [Hari and Gaal] just become proper peers? He's the only person who understands everything that he understands and, given what's happening, he can't keep secrets from her because someone's got to know.
"It's more interesting to see that they're working together rather than working against each other, because I feel like we've done that already."
Season 2's shock ending saw Hari and Gaal step into cryosleep chambers, planning to wake up once a year to teach the mentalics in the Second Foundation to get the plan back on track in time to face The Mule. But will it be enough?

Despite The Mule's incredible power and influence in season 3, Asbæk has teased that he has some weaknesses that Gaal and Hari could exploit.
"He's got a lot of weakness. Maybe his ego is his weakness," he told RadioTimes.com.
"Power corrupts, and the more power you get, the more it will corrupt you... but he's a product of other people's decisions."
Foundation season 3 will premiere on 11th July 2025 on Apple TV+.
