Despite ending up in the skate off in the semi-finals, Colin Jackson managed to make it to the Dancing on Ice 2021 finals.

The judges decided to save him over rapper Lady Leshurr and he'll now battle it out with Faye Brookes and Sonny Jay in a bid to be crowned this year's skating champ and win the coveted trophy.

Since he joined the ITV skating show, Jackson has been pretty consistent and has only improved as the weeks have gone on.

In Week Six, he bagged 37.5 points for his Movie Week performance and last week he finished in joint third place on the leaderboard with a grand total of 75 points.

As a two-time world champion in the hurdles, he certainly knows what it feels like to break world records, but does he have what it takes to do the same on Dancing on Ice?

Job: Olympian and sports commentator

Colin Jackson MBE won a silver medal at the Olympics in the 110 metre hurdles, went on to become world champion twice, and his world record of 12.91 seconds for the 110m hurdles stood for over a decade. He remains the 60 metres hurdles world record holder.

Since retiring from sports, he is now as a TV presenter and sports commentator for athletics, working mainly for the BBC. He appeared on Strictly Come Dancing back in 2005, and on Celebrity MasterChef in 2010.

What has Colin Jackson scored so far?

Week Two: 6, 6, 6.5, 6.5 (25)

Week Three: 7.5, 7, 7.5, 7.5 (29.5)

Week Four: 6.5, 7.5, 7.5, 7.5 (29)

Week Five: 8, 8.5, 8, 8 (32.5)

Week Six: 9, 9.5, 9.5, 9.5 (37.5)

Week Seven: 9, 9, 9.5, 9.5 (37) + 9.5, 9.5, 9.5, 9.5 (38) = 75

Jackson scored a respectable 25/40 for Week One, followed by 29.5 in Week Three, which saw him climb to second in the leaderboard.

He wasn't so successful in Week Four though, finishing third from the bottom with a score of 29 and finding himself in the skate-off – although he managed to avoid elimination after the judges opted to save him.

He managed to redeem himself in Week Five by scoring an impressive 32.5 in Love Week and came back even harder in Week Six, earning 37.5 points and shooting to the top of the leaderboard alongside Sonny Jay.

Unfortunately, Jackson found himself in the skate off against Lady Leshurr in Week Seven.

However, the judges decided to save him, giving him one last chance to truly impress and be crowned this year's skating champ.

So, will he be able to do it? Only time will tell.

What has Colin Jackson CBE said about joining Dancing on Ice?

Speaking about his DOI signing, Colin CBE said: "The first thing for us all is to get used to our boots. I don't know if you've tried ice skating boots but they are pretty tight so we've got to get our feet in there and start getting used to balancing on them. We won't get onto the ice fully until the middle of October.

"I can do a little bit of skating. I think with sport in itself you've certainly got a bit of balance and that will be transferable in this circumstance. How much dancing we'll do, who knows?! We'll see how the choreography goes. I'm going to try and that's the most important thing. You go out there, you enjoy yourself and you learn a new skill and to hone the skill of skating will just be a huge, huge plus. I'm looking forward to it."

Alongside his promo pic, Colin added: "My mantra is: 'Stay focused and stay respectful on the ice' - because if you disrespect it, it will bite you back!"
