It’s official: Beat The Chasers is back, kicking off with two celebrity specials this March, followed by a third series.
Hosted by Bradley Walsh, famous faces will compete against the quizzing titans for the first time ever, in the hope of winning some money for their chosen charities.
So, who are the celebs taking on the challenge? And will they be able to hold their nerves and beat the Chasers?
Here’s everything you need to know as Beat The Chasers returns to ITV, including whether new chaser Darragh Ennis will appear on the show.
Will there be Beat the Chasers series 3?
There most definitely will be!
ITV recently confirmed a third series of the show, along with two celebrity specials.
The first celebrity special will air on ITV on Saturday, 27th March at 8:30pm.
Beat the Chasers regularly trended on Twitter during series two’s episodes, and fans loved the first series, which debuted last April to over 5.7 million viewers in its first night.
Which Chasers will appear on the Beat the Chasers celebrity special?
Beat the Chasers series two saw Mark ‘The Beat’ Labbett, Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace, Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty, Paul ‘Sinnerman’ Sinha and Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan team up to take on brave contestants, however brand new Chaser Darragh Ennis was notably absent as Ennis had not yet made his debut on The Chase when the spin-off was filmed.
The celebrity special will welcome Darragh Ennis for the first time since joining last year. He’ll sit alongside Mark, Shaun, Anne, and Jenny.
Unfortunately Paul Sinha won’t be on the celebrity special as he missed out on filming due to illness.
Speaking of how they worked as a team on the celebrity special, Darragh said: “I thought we did quite well. It took me a few minutes to hit my stride as this was the first time I’d been on a team with the others. I had to get my speed up. On The Chase my final Chase tactics are slow and careful, but that doesn’t work for Beat the Chasers. This show is all about speed and we’re really up against it with some of the time offers we give. But we have such a range of strengths that once we hit our stride we are very hard to beat.”
Which celebrities will appear on Beat the Chasers?
The celebrities taking part in the first special are Joe Pasquale, Katherine Ryan, Radzi Chinyanganya, Christine Ohuruogu and Shaun Williamson.
And it sounds like they gave the Chasers a serious run for their money, with Darragh revealing: “There were some very close matches against the celebs. We tried to draw them in with hard choices on the offers of time and money and that led to some last gasp wins and losses. Huge money offers were on the table. Did any celebs walk away with big cash prizes? I’m afraid you’ll have to wait and see.”
When will Beat the Chasers series 3 air?
ITV are yet to confirm an official air date for series three, but it’s expected to follow the celebrity specials this spring.
