In the world of dramas, it can often be the case that some series fly under the radar. So, it's a good thing that some broadcasters have our backs covered and acquire shows for their own platforms.

That's the case with The Veil, which originally premiered back in 2024 on FX on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ in the UK.

Now, it's coming to Channel 4, so there will be plenty more people who are set to go on quite the roller coaster journey in this international thriller.

From the mind of Steven Knight, who is best known for his work on Peaky Blinders, the series is led by The Handmaid's Tale star Elisabeth Moss and Yumna Marwan.

Moss reunites with a fellow Handmaid's Tale star, Josh Charles, in this series, but who else stars in The Veil?

Who is Imogen? An MI6 agent who has earned a good reputation for her undercover work.

Where have I seen Elisabeth Moss? Moss is best known for her leading roles in The Handmaid's Tale, in which she also serves as executive producer and has directed multiple episodes. She has also had prominent roles in Mad Men, Shining Girls, Top of the Lake and The West Wing.

Yumna Marwan as Adilah El Idrissi

Who is Adilah? As well as trying to save her daughter from danger, Adilah is also trying to prevent an attack on the US – but is suspected of being an ISIS leader herself.

Where have I seen Yumna Marwan? Marwan is known for her roles in Little Birds, a 2020 TV series in which she starred alongside Juno Temple. She has also starred in several drama films including The Translator, Costa Brava Lebanon and Inshallah a Boy.

Dali Benssalah as Malik Amar

Who is Malik? An agent working for the French intelligence agency DGSE who operates as Imogen's handler – and also happens to be her lover.

Where have I seen Dali Benssalah? As well as several French-language productions, Benssalah has starred in No Time to Die as assassin Primo (Cyclops).

Josh Charles as Max Peterson

Who is Max? A self-assured and confident CIA agent who is heading up a task force to prevent an incident on US soil.

Where have I seen Josh Charles? Charles is best known for his roles in The Good Wife, Dead Poets Society, The Power and We Own This City. He has also had roles in The Handmaid's Tale, Mothers' Instinct and Away.

Thibault de Montalembert as Magritte

Who is Magritte? Malik's superior in the DGCE.

Where have I seen Thibault de Montalembert? The actor is best known for his roles in Call My Agent!, The Tunnel, All Quiet on the Western Front and, more recently, Heartstopper. He has also been the French voice actor for plenty of high-profile actors like Hugh Grant, Antonio Banderas and Mark Ruffalo.

The Veil premieres on Channel 4 on Sunday 20th July at 9pm, with all episodes available to stream. The Veil is also available to stream on Disney+.
