Slow Horses star teases intriguing character change for season 6
There's about to be a personality shift for Roddy Ho.

It seems Slow Horses' Roddy Ho (Christopher Chung) might have learnt a few lessons after being (checks notes) nearly run over, shot at, locked up, interrogated, hacked, and honey trapped in season 5.
Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com at the Radio Times Covers Party about what's ahead for his expert hacker in season 6 of the beloved spy thriller, Chung teased a bit of a personality change...
"Roddy is a little bit more spiritual," he revealed. "He might have learned a few things from season 5, from the love that he didn't get returned back to him. You might see him in a little bit more of a holistic place in season 6."
He added: "Playing Roddy is so brilliant because you just get to say exactly the things that you are not allowed to say in real life and be completely unfiltered, uncensored, and as obnoxious as you like, but trying to imbue him with a sense of humanity. It's always really fun."
Asked if he has a bit more of that humanity in season 6 after his experiences in season 5, Chung responded: "I think he does.
"Well, I don't know if that's necessarily something that he would show to anyone else. He always has the wall up, even though inside maybe he's a little bit more like a puppy dog than anyone would realise."
Season 6, which is due to be released later this year, will adapt two of Mick Herron's novels at the same time.
Reflecting on how that might change the feel of the show, Chung explained: "I think every season of Slow Horses has a slightly different feel to it.

"So I think what we've managed to do this season is to combine the two books into one and give it a real propelling force forward, to really elevate the series from where we left off in season 5."
And as for the future of the show? "I'd be happy to play Roddy until – well, not the day I die, because that could be a long time. But I think the day that I have to take my Roddy Ho hat off will be a very sad day, so hopefully it's not anytime soon."
Slow Horses season 6 will arrive later this year. Seasons 1-5 are available to stream on Apple TV+ – sign up to Apple TV+ now.
