The television universe adapted from Anne Rice's celebrated works is both growing and evolving, with acclaimed series Interview with the Vampire to take on a new name in its third entry.

The series will retain its showrunner Rolin Jones and its beloved main cast, but will change its title to The Vampire Lestat as the creative team turn their attention to adapting the second title in Rice's Vampire Chronicles.

The story will take the point of view of now-title character Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid), after the first two seasons heard only Louis de Pointe du Lac's version of events (as played by co-star Jacob Anderson).

In season 3, we'll see Lestat attempt to wrestle control of the narrative away from Pointe du Lac, as he becomes an all-out rock star in scenes teased by a first-look trailer released at San Diego Comic-Con. Watch here:

While the changes will centre Lestat more prominently than ever before, showrunner Jones also assured fans (via Variety) that "there's way more Louis in our show than there is in the book".

In a panel filled with announcements and memorable moments, the team also announced five new cast members joining the show formerly known as Interview with the Vampire.

Those names to note are Jennifer Ehle (Lioness) as Gabriella, Ella Ballentine (Black Conflux) as Baby Jenks, Jeanine Serralles (Apples Never Fall) as Christine Claire, Christopher Heyerdahl (Under the Banner of Heaven) as Marius and Damien Atkins (Slings & Arrows) as Magnus.

In addition to the aforementioned Reid and Anderson, series regulars Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles and Assad Zaman will reprise their roles too.

The Vampire Lestat isn't the only thing to get excited about in AMC's Immortal Universe (inspired by Anne Rice's works), which is expanding just in time for Halloween with Talamasca: The Secret Order.

The new series, starring Nicholas Denton and Elizabeth McGovern, follows a covert group that tracks witches, vampires and other such fantastical creatures, with the intention of keeping them contained if deemed necessary.

The series will be tied in with Interview with the Vampire/The Vampire Lestat via a cameo from Bogosian as journalist Daniel Molloy, whose book based on Louis de Ponte's testimony has been published as of season 3.

The panel confirmed that Talamasca: The Secret Order will premiere on AMC in the United States on Sunday 26th October, releasing a trailer to stoke up excitement for the imminent debut.

Alas, The Vampire Lestat isn't expected until next year. Watch this space for more updates.
