Grey's Anatomy future confirmed as two show legends set to exit medical drama in season 22 finale
The renewal news is bittersweet.

ABC has officially renewed Grey’s Anatomy for a 23rd season.
The drama, which was created by Shonda Rhimes and first hit our screens in 2005, is the longest running primetime medical drama on television. Season 22 is currently underway on ABC and Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK.
While the season 23 renewal will come as welcome news to fans, it's not all good news, as two of the show’s longtime cast members, Kevin McKidd and Kim Raver, were recently announced to be departing as series regulars at the end of season 22.
Raver and McKidd – who play fan favourite characters Dr Teddy Altman and Dr Owen Hunt – will make their last appearance in the season finale in May.

However, plenty of familiar faces are expected to return for the new season, including Chandra Wilson (Bailey), James Pickens Jr (Richard), Camilla Luddington (Jo), Caterina Scorsone (Amelia) and Chris Carmack (Link).
Deadline previously reported that a season 23 renewal was expected to be accompanied by a budget cut and a slightly reduced episode count, but this is yet to officially be confirmed.
Grey's Anatomy season 22 premiered back in October, before taking a break for a month at the end of January and resuming at the end of February with a special tribute to the late Eric Dane, who played Dr Mark Sloan in the drama's early seasons.
