Indeed, some RE9 fans are already two or three playthroughs deep in the game, trying to ascertain the meaning behind the mysterious Final Challenge puzzle. But once you've ticked that off, what do you have to look forward to in the future?

Keep on reading and we'll do our best to make sense of the Resident Evil Requiem DLC situation, and whether you have any cause to get excited about future content.

Will there be Resident Evil Requiem DLC?

At the time of writing, the developer Capcom has not officially announced any plans for Resident Evil Requiem DLC.

However, we feel pretty confident that RE9 will eventually receive DLC content, based on previous form and more recent rumblings around the community.

Fans will remember that Capcom's previous mainline new entry in the franchise (2021's Resident Evil Village) did receive a major story DLC, as did the company's most recent remake (2023's Resident Evil 4).

Warning: If you keep reading, we will be getting into some spoilers!

Resident Evil Requiem does seem to have one big DLC tease, as fans who've finished the game in one particular way will know. Look away now if you don't know what I'm talking about!

In one of the endings, iconic franchise character Chris Redfield dispatches the BSAA Hound Wolf Unit to save the RE9 heroes, which seems to tee up the possibility that Chris could play an important role – perhaps being a playable character himself, similarly to Biohazard's Not A Hero expansion – in an upcoming Requiem DLC.

Plus, social media 'leaker' Dusk Golem has previously claimed that Resident Evil Requiem will be getting DLC, which makes it feel even more likely. But, even if we're taking that with a pinch of salt, when might it happen?

When could the Resident Evil Requiem DLC release?

We would predict, based on previous releases, that Resident Evil Requiem's DLC release date probably won't be until September 2026 at the earliest.

Resident Evil 4 Remake's Separate Ways DLC launched in September 2023, some six months after the game's initial launch in March 2023.

Resident Evil Village's Shadows of the Rose launched in October 2022, five months after the game's initial launch in May 2021.

Resident Evil 7's Not A Hero DLC launched in December 2017, a whopping 11 months after the game's initial launch in January 2017.

What that previous form in mind, we'd wager that there will be a wait of at least five months between the full game's launch and any additional expansions. If and when a date is confirmed, we'll be sure to update this page.
