New GTA 6 leak hints at massive gameplay upgrade inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2
Have some goddamn faith!

A recent leak that has surfaced online has suggested that Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature a dialogue system leagues beyond that of GTA 5.
13 years on from the release of its predecessor, and more than two years since its first trailer, we are still months away from the release of GTA 6.
Perhaps the most highly anticipated game of all time, much has been made of the game's development time and budget, with many expecting these to translate into a scale we have never seen before in gaming.
While these hopes have typically been ascribed to things like gameplay mechanics and graphics, it appears the same may be true of the game's dialogue system.
In a Reddit post, the unverified leaker details the game's dialogue system, stating, "I don't think people understand how insane the NPC dialogue system is in this game.
"Everyone assumes it's like GTA V, where you have a pool of lines, and they just shuffle. It's not that anymore. It's structured. Like… labelled and categorised at a level I've never seen."
The leaker goes on to explain that unlike in GTA 5, where NPC dialogue was taken from a random pool of voice lines, NPCs will now react to the world around them via a comprehensively labelled dialogue system in which specific voice lines are tied to certain conditions.

More specifically, the leaker claims that, beyond responding to the player's actions, NPCs will hold conversations with one another, reference things like weather, time of day and local events, and cycles through the entire set of voice lines before repeating any to minimise the chances of hearing one voice line multiple times.
Fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 will no doubt recognise this approach to dialogue, with the NPCs of RDR2 having similarly reactive dialogue in regard to Arthur Morgan's antics.
Considering the sheer scale of the GTA 6 map, and therefore the vast number of NPCs therein, it cannot be understated how impressive an achievement this would be, should it turn out to be true.
Naturally, as with any and all leaks, it is worth taking this news with a grain of salt, as we have no way of knowing just how accurate it is until we get our hands on the game ourselves.
