A bickering father and son must survive the night when their crew of road workers awakens an ancient Irish vampire. Comedy horror, starring Jack Rowan and Nigel O'Neill
A sleepy Irish village steeped in vampire folklore gets a rude awakening in this lively, low-budget comic horror. When bickering father-and-son builders Francie (Nigel O'Neill) and Eugene (Jack Rowan) are enlisted to construct a highway through their village, the work disturbs a creepy cairn reputed to be the resting place of an ancient evil. Along with a band of road workers, they attempt to slay the unshackled monster and save their little corner of the world from destruction. Writer/director Chris Baugh's follow-up to 2017 revenge thriller Bad Day for the Cut puts a fresh spin on the vampire flick, especially when it comes to the blood-draining antics of the baleful baddie. The idea of a creature prowling the Irish countryside recalls the rural menace of Rawhead Rex, while the wry, pitch-black humour is in the vein of From Dusk till Dawn. Alongside O'Neill and Rowan, veteran star John Lynch (Best) leads a game cast desperate to survive the night.
