Jim Davidson wins Celebrity Big Brother: ‘I wasn’t playing a game I was just being me’

Controversial comic Jim Davidson has been crowned the latest winner of Celebrity Big Brother, taking the title ahead of rapper Dappy, in second place, and Made in Chelsea’s Olli Locke in third.

Davidson, who was clearly more popular with the viewing public than he was with his fellow housemates, called the result “Overwhelming… especially as I’ve been nominated more times than Gone With The Wind…I got saved by these people [in the crowd] and the people at home”.

The 60 year old said he owed his victory to simply being himself.

“I wasn’t playing a game, if I wanted to have an argument with someone, I’d have one…I’ll stand my ground and just be me”.

Dappy – real name Costadinos Contostavlos – took a similar lesson away from his Big Brother experience, saying it had taught him to connect with himself rather than his stage persona.

“A long time ago when I was younger…I was rebellious” said the cousin of former N-Dubz co-member Tulisa Contostavlos. “Coming into the house it’s taught me to be Costas, not Dappy.”

Dappy also had kind words for his surrogate “Dad” Davidson, saying: “When he came into my life, he took that place all of a sudden – I’ll call him Dad for the rest of my life. I’m definitely going to be carp fishing with my ‘Dad’ for the rest of my life.”

Ollie, meanwhile, called Big Brother “the most bizarre experience in my entire life.”

Kudos to Channel 5 for creating something weirder than Made in Chelsea.
