Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Lively and likeable, All Stars is a pre-teen version of all those "Let's put the show on here!" films, such as Step Up and StreetDance. Ethan (Horrid Henry: the Movie's Theo Stevenson) is a budding young entrepreneur, while his pal Jaden (Akai Osei-Mansfield) is a dance whizz. When a hiss-boo baddie from the local council announces plans to turn their much-loved local community centre into a car park, Theo and Jaden set about staging a dance contest to save it. Everything rides on Jaden's skills, but his ambitious parents want him to sit private-school exams on the very same day. Thoroughly corny it may be, but this makes for decent, undemanding entertainment for younger kids.
